PS5 Repairs
Sony’s current flagship, launched alongside the Series X in November 2020 — instantly recognisable for its two-tone white and black panels, and built around a genuinely fast NVMe SSD that changed what loading times look like. Available as Disc or Digital Edition. It’s the console we get asked about the most right now, and faults tend to cluster around a handful of well-understood weak points.
Common faults:
HDMI port damage — one of the most common repairs we see on any current-gen console
Disc drive not reading games (Disc Edition only)
Overheating and fan noise as the factory liquid metal degrades over time
No power / power supply faults
Coil whine or unusual noise under load
Disc eject mechanism sticking or failing (Disc Edition)

How long does a repair usually take?
Most repairs are turned around within a few days of us receiving the console, though it depends on the fault and whether parts need ordering in. We’ll always give you a realistic timeframe once we’ve had a proper look.
Do you offer a “no fix, no fee” guarantee?
Yes. If we can’t fix it, you don’t pay for the repair. The only exception is if you’d like the unrepaired console posted back to you, in which case a £30 diagnostic fee applies to cover our time and the return postage.
Is there a warranty on the repair?
Board-level and electrical repairs come with a 12-month warranty. Wear-and-tear on any parts such as bent HDMI pins or bent port housing will invalidate the wattanty as this can only be caused by accidental damage or misuse.
Why does my PS5 keep overheating or shutting itself down?
Usually the factoryliquid metal has dried out, especially on consoles that have had a few years of regular use. A proper reapplication (and a clean-out of built-up dust) sorts most of these.
My HDMI port doesn’t work / there’s no picture — can it be fixed?
Yes, this is one of the most common repairs we do. Whether it’s a physically damaged port or a fault further into the board (the ESD chip or the retimer), it’s almost always repairable.
My Xbox Series X won’t turn on at all — is it even worth repairing?
Usually, yes. No power is often a power supply or a specific board-level component failure rather than the whole console being dead — it’s rarely as terminal as it feels.
Can you fix a loud or failing fan?
es — sometimes it just needs a proper clean and re-lubrication, other times the fan itself needs replacing. Either way it’s a straightforward job.
