The XBox One X Repairs
Xbox Series X
Released in 2017 as “the world’s most powerful console” at the time — a mid-generation upgrade with 4K output and 12GB of GDDR5 memory packed into a noticeably larger case than the One S. It runs hot by design, which is exactly why thermal-related faults are the single most common thing we see come through the door on these.
Common faults:
Fan noise from dust and worn bearings after years of use
Overheating and thermal shutdown — a well-known weak point on this model
HDMI port failure or no-display faults
Disc drive read errors or drive failure
Power supply faults / no power
XBox One X Repairs
Can you fix a disc drive that won’t eject or read discs?
Yes — whether it’s a mechanical fault with the tray or a drive that needs replacing, this is a common and fixable issue on the One X
Do you offer a “no fix, no fee” guarantee?
Yes. If we can’t fix it, you don’t pay for the repair. The only exception is if you’d like the unrepaired console posted back to you, in which case a £30 diagnostic fee applies to cover our time and the return postage.
Is there a warranty on the repair?
Board-level and electrical repairs come with a 12-month warranty. Wear-and-tear on any parts such as bent HDMI pins or bent port housing will invalidate the wattanty as this can only be caused by accidental damage or misuse.
Why does my Xbox One X overheat so much?
It’s a known characteristic of this model — it’s the most powerful Xbox One and runs hot by design, so thermal paste degrading over time causes shutdowns more often here than on other models.
My HDMI port doesn’t work / there’s no picture — can it be fixed?
Yes, this is one of the most common repairs we do. Whether it’s a physically damaged port or a fault further into the board (the ESD chip or the retimer), it’s almost always repairable.
My disc drive says it doesn’t recognise the console — can this be fixed?
This is usually a pairing issue between the drive and the board rather than the drive itself being broken, and in many cases a system update resolves it cleanly
Can you fix a loud or failing fan?
es — sometimes it just needs a proper clean and re-lubrication, other times the fan itself needs replacing. Either way it’s a straightforward job.
