We had a Ninetendo Switch in today that worked normally, charges, plays perfectly yet when it was put in a Switch Dock and connected via HDMi to TV nothing outputted.

We tested the Switch with a known working dock and it still didn’t work.

We then looked at the port under a microscope and could see it has one bent pin – the second one in that happens to be from a pair of USB 3.1 10Gbps lines that convert to data transfer when in the dock.

Other pins also showed higher than normal readings. A lot higher in fact. Should be arounf 0.43v and were 0.75.

So we set about replacing the port

Once this was done and we put it back together it worked perfectly
